The Beauty of Phang Nga Island, Thailand

One of the places that we visited in Thailand during our vacation (Sept 20-24, 2007) is this beautiful island called Phang Nga Island. While unremarkable in itself, Phang-Nga town is surrounded by hauntingly beautiful national parks with striking rock formations, limestone cliffs and uninhabited islands.

Below are some of the photos that i took at this beautiful island....

hundreds of rocks and cliffs with picturesque coves and mangrove forests

Though the town is quiet, it is surrounded by natural parkland, featuring caves, uninhabited islands, coral reefs and archaeological sites. This is the famous "James Bond Island"

Canoeing is such an experience....

Elephant Trekking (that will be the last coz we're so nervous riding the elephant hehe...)

Now Phang-nga is popular for eco-tourism. There are many tour operators organizing a large variety of activities in this area, such as sea canoeing, rafting, elephant trekking, jungle trekking, diving, etc.
